Eurocon 2007 Progress Report number seven.

Welcome to Eurocon 2007 Progress Report number seven.

Welcome to Eurocon 2007 Progress Report number seven.

This is the last Progress Report to be sent out, as the convention will take place in a few days from now. We are all very busy these days, so if you are missing an answer on something, it's probably because we are too busy to answer e-mails. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Signup for the reception and the banquet is now closed, and no more will be admitted. If you signed up you will be told how to get your tickets etc. by e-mail. For the guided tour Thursday the meeting place is Nyhavn / Kongens Nytorv. All sign up forms will be closed as soon as possible. Available seats can be reserved at the convention. Also for Eurocon Awards we do not accept any more suggestions/prenominations. Bring your suggestions forward at the ESFS meetings at Eurocon 2007 instead.

About the programme, changes will take place until the very start of the convention. You will get a printed version of the programme when you arrive, so there is no need to print it out from the website. For planning purposes, we suggest you look at the way we have divided the programme into various categories. This should make it easier for you.

We now have a page on our website about the art exhibition:

We recently introduced an airport pickup service for people coming from abroad. This service has proved to be very popular indeed, so we cannot promise to be able to help everybody. However you should all have received descriptions on how to go to the city center or to the convention site.

We are proud to announce that we have made a deal with the Danish band Press Play On Tape who will come by Saturday evening and entertain us after the Awards ceremony. If you don't know them, try searching for PPOT on YouTube. Their music is based on old Commodore 64 games. We are looking forward  to this, and hope you will enjoy their music.

There is now some information available on our website about the books that are being published in connection with Eurocon 2007, mostly the European Anthology (including one Hugo winner from this year's Worldcon) and a book about our Guests of Honour.

On Sunday the Danish State Rail (DSB) offers free transport in all of Copenhagen. This is because a new timetable will start this day. This only applies to the S-trains - not buses or Metro.

At Thursday we open the registration desk at the convention site (in the Cafe). It will be open from 3pm until 8pm. That evening we also start to set up the whole convention. If you miss a place to meet some fans we can recommend Café Ciré at Valby Langgade from 7pm. This is situated in the Valby area about 10 minutes walk from the convention site. Of course you are also welcome to give us a hand that evening, moving tables etc.

With a big programme as the one we are presenting at Eurocon 2007 there will be a lot of changes, and - as mentioned earlier - we will change the programme until the very last minute. We have unfortunately had a cancellation from the well-known Danish scientist Holger Bech Nielsen as he was not able to get to Denmark from abroad in due time. We regret this, but the rest of our science track will still be there, of course.

With kind regards

Eurocon 2007
